Faith Baptist Church
is blessed to have a leadership team who are truly dedicated to Christ and accomplishing His will.
Following are brief bio's of our leadership team and their qualifications for ministry.
1 Timothy 3:1-13 NASB
Pastor David Anderson
Senior Pastor
Family: Pastor Dave has been in pastoral ministry for forty-two years, forty of them alongside his wife Colleen. They have two adult children and three grandchildren.
Career: Pastor Dave and Colleen came to Faith Baptist in 1991 from the Faith Fellowship Church in Clarence, NY, (near Buffalo), and is currently celebrating twenty-one years as Senior Pastor at Faith Baptist.
Favorite Books: The Pursuit of God by A.W. Tozer, Whatever Happened to the Human Race? by Francis Schaffer, several books by John MacArthur, anything in the Dilbert collection.
Hobbies: Dave enjoys watching football and the original Star Trek series, as well as spending time with his family.
Testimony: I was raised in the Christian Science Church, believing in God but rejecting the concept of sin, sickness and death. But my appendix ruptured when I was 11 years old and this reality served to break the hold of Christian Science thought on my heart and it weakened the grip CS had on my family. In less than two years, we had all come to trust in Christ as Savior, thanks to the ministry of the Berean Baptist Church of Albuquerque, NM and its half-Cherokee pastor, Charlie Yate. Those nine months in Albuquerque were the most transformational period of our lives.
Pastor Joseph Hamlin
Assistant Pastor
Family: Pastor Joe and his wife Kim have been married for over 30 years and they have two adult children and four grandchildren.
Education: Pastor Joe went to GVSU receiving both his Bachelors in Social Work (BSW), as well as his Masters in Social Work (MSW). He graduated from The Master’s Seminary, with his Master of Divinity (MDIV).
Career: Pastor Joe is a veteran of the USAF, serving overseas and stateside. He served as the Pastor of Outreach and Family Ministries in his home state of Michigan and was brought on staff at FBC in October of 2021 as Pastor Dave’s Assistant Pastor.
Favorite Books: The Gospel According to Jesus by John MacArthur, Dangerous Calling by Paul Tripp, 2000 Years of Christ’s Power by Nicholas Needham (all 4 volumes), The Reformed Pastor by Richard Baxter, Pilgrims Progress by John Bunyan, The Lord of the Rings Trilogy by J.R. Tolkien.
Hobbies: Going to the beach, fishing with his wife and enjoying the Florida weather. He also enjoys a good book, catching up with family and friends, and walking.
Testimony: Pastor Joe was 25 years old the first time he remembers ever hearing a clear presentation of the gospel. While stationed in Germany in the Air Force, his brother, who was living back in Michigan, came to know Christ. He regularly called Pastor Joe to share the gospel with him. After several weeks of this Pastor Joe was convicted of his sin. He repented and placed his faith in Christ and Christ alone for salvation. From that point forward he began reading his Bible and attending a small Baptist Church in Germany. He knew he was called to the ministry as a Pastor very early on, but the Lord did not bring it about for many years after his conversion.
Favorite Books of Bible: It is hard to pick any favorites, however the book of James was instrumental in Pastor Joe’s early Christian walk. He also loves Genesis, Mark, Romans, and 1 & 2 Samuel.
Favorite Passages: Romans 1:16 – 17, 2 Corinthians 5:17-21, Ephesians 2:1-5
